Building Addition Finished - Grand Opening A Success!
Saturday, August 9th the Post held its grand opening after four months of construction. A 2,000 square foot addition was added to the existing building. The new addition includes a Post office, new men's and women's restrooms and a new meeting room. The USO Reflections entertained early in the evening and the we had Karaoke and dancing in the evening. Everyone sang and danced into the night.
A large crowd turned out to the USO Reflections entertainment. There was food, karoake, fun and camaraderie for all.
At the August, 2008 monthly meeting the membership voted to rename the Post the "Jimmie Vessels Post 2206" in honor or Jimmie vessels.
We are starting to get a lot of participation with the meals in our dining hall. The Men's Auxiliary in September will be doing a dinner and breakfast. The Ladies will be doing a dinner the third Saturday of every month. Everyones support, patronage and help are appreciated.
Every week end we will be having entertainment. There will be live bands or karaoke so everyone should plan on coming by and enjoying some fine food, camardarie and entertainment
If you have any military memorabilia you would like to display in the Post, let us know - bring it by or give us a call.
The Post received All-American Awards at the National convention and the Commander was named All-American Commander. Congratulations.
Annual Post Inspection
The Post had its annual Post Inspection by the District inspector on August 9th and everything was found to be in good order.

Jimmie Vessels passed away at his home on August 12, 2008.
18 men went to the funeral in uniforms as a tribute to Jimmie who helped the Post in many ways.
The Honor Guard did a great job and was vry professional looking. Thank you Dick Morton for coordinating the ceremony and participants.
